J. Girling & Sons, Leyton

According to a 1952 issue of The Estates Gazette, auctioneers J. Girling & Sons had their main office on High Road, Woodford Green, a couple of miles north of this ghost sign. Did the auctioneering firm have a branch in Leyton? Maybe there was more information on the part of the wall now painted in white?
If the firm's name is rather plain, the downstrokes and upstrokes of "Auctioneers" really catch one's attention.

Hi,

J Girling & Sons refers to my grandfather who started an Estate agent, Removal and Auctioneer businesses. To my knowledge the first office was opened in Hoe Street Walthamstow, followed by a second office in High Road Chingford close to Chingford Mount.

The business was taken over by my uncle and the Chingford shop was sold to the Halifax Building Society.

This sign I believe was where the removal and auctioneer business was based.
